Maybe they're from France? Maybe they live in New York? Maybe they were born on the back of a flying horse with a wingspan the size of the Eifel Tower? I don't think anyone knows for sure, but the facts are this: There is a girl named Melanie and a boy named Julien and they both thoroughly cover the bases of modern design that is Unison. Using tools like "guitars," "controllers," and "vocals," Unison builds skyscrapers, bridges, tunnels and reservoirs like an aural city building simulation game played at high volumes. Like another Matte Black Editions artist, EDH, Melanie's accent is an asset, a far cry from the corn-fed "American girls" who clog our airwaves and radio transmissions with uninspired, unoriginal incantations. If you are reading this you are someone who most likely is seeking out an alternative to the modern pop-vixen; look no further. These guys are no gimmick. In a world chock-full of painfully cute guy/girl duos, we need more groups like Unison. No pretension, no "marketing strategy", no sexy pictures that make one question the presence of substance (note: Melanie is hotttt, don't get it twisted) . Instead, you just get the stuff little girls and boys are made of mixed with a big, dark storm brewing in the distance that will undoubtedly leave a rainbow in its wake. Yeah, that's Unison.
